80″ CR Slitter Up & Running in Cleveland

Ferrous Metal Processing, a Ferragon Company, announces the start-up of a new cold rolled slitting line at their Cleveland, Ohio facility. The CR slitter is the most versatile and capable CR slitter in the market. The line processes incoming coils up to 80” wide and 70,000 lbs., in gauge ranges from .015” – .156”.

“Our new slitter expands our toll processing capabilities in Cleveland and offers customers a superior, regional slitting solution,” said Ed Gonzalez, president. “FMP is capable of processing HR black through CR slit packaged material in one location, without the cost, time or hassle of moving material to other processors.”

FMP’s proprietary arbor and tooling technology and fully integrated drive system produces a superior slit edge and tight, accurate coil winding on slit widths from 2 ½” to 78”.

Additionally, a new automated packaging line complements the new slitter. The packaging line’s capabilities include ID’s of 20” or 24”, cuts from 2 ½”- 24” wide, OD’s up to 72” and mults up to 15,000 lbs.

The slitter can process all the carbon steel grades, including AHSS grades up to MS1700, stainless steels and aluminum.
